Visiting Papa

Anthony's dad ended up in the hospital this past week.  He had a twist in his bowel, and had to have surgery.  He had some rough days, and was in a lot of pain, but is finally home and on the mend.
We spent a lot of the week at the hospital. I tried to take a variety of things for the kids to do quietly in the waiting room.  They did very well. We were so thankful that the waiting room wasn't super busy most of the time, and that there was a kids' table with chairs for them to sit at.
Kaitlyn got to spend quite a bit of time with her cousin, Ashley. They had a lot of fun together!
More quiet time in the waiting room.

For dinner on Saturday night, we went out to Olive Garden with Mom Starr and some of Anthony's family.

Ashley found a new way to use her napkin.
Day 2 post-op: Dad was up walking around for longer periods of time. In the evening, he came out and sat in the waiting room with us to visit.
Natalie loves her Papa.  She was a bit confused why he couldn't pick her up and hold her, but was much more relaxed sitting by him out in the waiting room than in his hospital bed.
Day 3 post-op: Looking so much better.  He even felt up to drinking a decaf latte! Kaitlyn brought Papa some home-made cards. She was just sure they would make him feel better and cheer him up!
He came home on Tuesday, and continues to get stronger each day.  He is still having some issues with pain, but is doing better tolerating food.   Thank you to all who have prayed for him. We are so thankful for God's healing touch!
