First Haircut

Nolan got his first haircut today. I knew he probably wouldn't make it to a year, but I didn't think it would happen when he was only 5 months old either! He has started pulling out his hair around his ears, and with his bald spot in the back, it was getting to look like he was wearing a really bad toupee. So, we went to grandma's, and she gave him a haircut. He did really good, and looks so cute!! He looks like such a little boy! I'm hoping he'll quit pulling his hair out since he has nothing to grab on to now.

Mr. Faces

Yes, one of Nolan's favorite past times is playing in his ExerSaucer (as you can probably tell by many of my pictures). He loves to sit next to the window and look outside while he plays. He makes so many faces, it cracks me up!

It's feeding time again!

It cracks me up just watching the kids. Kaitlyn is such a natural mother when it comes to her babies... from how she holds and wraps them, to feeding and rocking them. Talon loves to do all the same things, but seems so left-footed about it. He doesn't quite know how to hold them, most bottle feedings look a little more like he's force feeding, and bundling them in blankets.... well, let's just say it's not his specialty!

Couldn't resist these pictures!

This one has to be my favorite of all. So sweet!

Cousins

Jess, Ruth, and Jessica rode a train from North Dakota, and came to visit. They surprised Anthony's parents one afternoon and showed up on their doorstep. Anthony's mom called and invited us over for dinner that night, and after we got in the door, they popped out of the back bedroom and surprised us. The visit seemed waaaaaay too short, and it was hard to see them leave, but we really enjoyed spending time with them. The kids had a blast playing and reading with Jessica, and Talon still talks about Uncle Jess playing with him. Can't wait until they come back for the family reunion in June.... and bring Jared and Jonathan with them!

Big Girl Bed

Look who's in a big girl bed!! We have decided to put Talon and Kaitlyn in the same room, and are getting a set of bunk beds for them. They are so excited and talk about it constantly. We thought it would be best if Nolan transitioned to the crib in his own room for a while. So to get Kaitlyn ready, I took the side rail off of her crib. She's a bit of a wild sleeper, so I expected she would fall out of bed a few times. The first night when I went in to check on her, her pillow was on the floor, and she was laying sideways in her bed. Hmmmm?!?! So I put her back on her pillow and tucked her in. The next morning, she seemed to be sleeping really late, so I went in to check on her. She was wide awake, laying in her bed, and talking really quietly to her baby doll. When I asked her, she said she did fall out of bed, but was emphatic that she didn't cry! Since then, I think she has fallen out a couple of times (due to the loud *thump* I have heard coming from her room). However, she never cries, and by the time I get in there to check on her, she's back in bed like nothing happened. She will lay in her bed in the morning, and holler that she wants out, but unlike her older brother, she never tries to escape her room. After her nap, she sits quietly on her bed and waits for me to come in to get her up. Such a big girl!

Birthday fun

Our niece, Ashley, just turned a year old! She's already been walking for a while, and is on. the. move! She's getting quite a little personality. What a cutie!

Happy Birthday, Little Miss! Mmmm... cake!

... and more pictures

These are just a few pictures that I took while we were at Ashley's party

Sweet friends

The kids love playing with Alyssa, Chad and Tori's little girl. Talon's pretty protective of her, and they do get a bit 'huggy' at times (if that's a word). It's pretty cute!
Anthony was chatting with him one day, and asked him who he was going to marry when he grew up. He was quiet for a long while as he thought about it. Anthony asked, "Are you going to marry Alyssa?", Talon replied, "No, somebody else!".

Great job, Daddy!

Anthony gave the kids their bath one day while I was sleeping, and he usually just combs out Kaitlyn's hair and leaves it to dry on its own. Sometimes he puts a headband in it. This day, he decided to try his hand at actually doing her hair with pony tail holders. He took these pictures so I could see it. He did a pretty good job, I think! Since then, he's done her hair a couple of different ways a few times. Her little pony tail holders are really small, and I have a hard enough time getting them wrapped around enough times for her hair to stay, so I can't imagine how hard it must be for him. What a great daddy!
I love these pictures!

... and after all that, she's still smilin'. Pretty good!

5 months old

Nolan is already 5 months old. What a fun, expressive little guy... he loves to gab constantly! He gets bored easily, so we try and change the scenery frequently for him. He likes to roll around on the floor, and still loves his ExerSaucer. He's fallen asleep in it a couple of times. It looks very uncomfortable, but it's pretty cute! (Daddy got these pictures.)

He still loves bath time!

Just bein' goofy

Hmmmm?

The nurse is in!

The kids have a couple of different doctor kits. It's so cute to see them 'working' on each other.
Nolan is more than happy to be her little patient. She couldn't get the blood pressure cuff to fit around his arm, so she put it on his leg. He just laid there and smiled.

A little drama

I LOVE this picture... her eyes are so bright, and she's in such a cheerful mood!
A bit sober...
Let the emotional roller coaster begin....
...and about 90 seconds later, we're smilin' again!
This series of pictures was taken over a 3-4 minute period of time.

She's going through a phase right now where she cries over anything and everything. Except, of course, if she REALLY gets hurt and is bleeding- then she just gets up, dusts herself off, and keeps going. Gotta love raisin' girls!!
