Zzzzzzz...

While I was at work, Daddy was getting the kids ready for bed, and Nolan was being especially quiet.  This would be the reason why....

Must have had a hard day at play!

Resurrection Sunday 2012

I came across these pictures and realized I never posted them.  So here they are...
The kids all dressed up at church on Resurrection Sunday.
(They were in a bit of a goofy mood- which makes it hard to stand still and cooperate for pictures sometimes.)

Nolan had fallen asleep half-way through service, and woke up ready to do anything but stand in one place and hold still, so I gave up.
My goal was a family picture, but quickly realized that wasn't going to happen.  So, I tried a few group shots with all the kids, but couldn't keep Nolan from running out of the picture.  By the time I had convinced him to stay where I put him, the older two were tired of smiling.  (Not that I blame them). This is the best I could get that wasn't blurry.  Not to mention, he had taken most of his outfit off by this point.  Oh, well... still so cute and love them to pieces!!

I was just recently looking at Easter pictures from the last 2 years.  It's hard to believe how fast they grow!

Where's Nolan?

A couple of nights ago, the kids were playing in their bedroom like they frequently do, while I was busy doing a few things around the house.  I noticed Talon and Kaitlyn came out into the living room to play, but Nolan wasn't anywhere around.  He plays well by himself for a little bit, but usually trots around with the older kids and likes to be involved in what they are doing.  I noticed things were pretty quiet, so after a few minutes I decided to go and see what he was up to.  It's not uncommon to come upon him in the kids' room, destroying their bookshelf and flipping through books- trying to decide which pages he thinks no longer belong in the book, and removing them.
I glanced in all the back rooms and didn't see him.  I figured he must be playing in the bathroom- doing who knows what with the bath toys, soap, toilet, or toilet paper.  However, the light was off and he wasn't in there either.  I called him a couple of times and he didn't answer.  I then asked the older kids and Anthony if they had seen him.  They hadn't.  I now was getting a bit anxious, and started looking a little more thoroughly throughout the house.  When I went into the back bedroom, I noticed the closet door was closed.  This was a bit out of place because
A) The closet door is broken and is not on it's track most of the time, and
B) There are usually so many toys billowing out of the closet, that you couldn't close the door if you tried.
I thought I heard a small voice coming from inside, so I opened the door.  This is what I saw....
Yep, there he was.... his head barely poking above the toy bin.  He was playing in the dark closet all by himself and not minding it a bit.  I guess maybe he needed a little alone time or something?!?!
I started laughing and ran and grabbed my camera.
When I opened the door to get some better pictures, he was a bit put out and kept trying to close the door again.  Apparently, he didn't want to be bothered!  This kid cracks me up constantly.  You never know what he's gonna do!

18 Months Old

Nolan is 18 months old today.  It's so hard to believe.  What a little munchkin!  He's such a fun little guy and always just a big ball of energy.  He talks constantly- though he still has his own language most of the time, and he loves to mimic what anyone says around him.
He's getting to be quite the independent little booger, and hates the word 'NO'.
It also doesn't occur to him for 2 seconds that he is smaller and younger than the older kids.  He figures, if they are doing something, it's his right to get to do it as well.

We went out for pizza for Anthony's birthday, and the kids got to play some arcade games.  Nolan loved the car, and he looked so cute driving it. The tantrum he threw when he finally had to get off, however.... not so cute!

Learning how to use the sit-and-spin.  He still tries to stand up on it occasionally, and finds out very quickly that it's not such a great idea.

Trying to make it through Sunday lunch, but couldn't quite do it.
Going, Going...

GONE!
Happy 18 Months, Little Man!

Mama's New Ride

Yes, we did some car shopping this past weekend, and I finally got my Honda Odyssey EX-L!  I never wanted to drive a van- I always preferred SUVs,  but when we test-drove some Odysseys a few years back, I decided I really liked them, and it became my 'dream family van'.  We started qualifying for our BMW bonus with ViSalus this month, but since we weren't going to get a BMW at this time, we decided to take the monthly cash bonus and put it towards an Odyssey.
I love it, and am so thankful for a nice family vehicle again.   We've been without AC for the past couple of years, and expecting a summer baby, wasn't really looking forward to another summer without AC.  Not to mention, our Caravan is the sports model, so it's more compact than most minivans. So we were trying to figure out how we were going to fit all 4 carseats in it.  Problem solved.  I now have a work van, and we have a family van that can seat 8 (without all the carseats, of coarse!).  Yeah!!  Looking forward to some comfortable family outings this summer when I'm off for a few weeks!!
Anthony did some searching online, and found this one.  Low miles, below KBB price, fully-loaded, and I love the 'black cherry pearl' color.  Great job, Honey!!

Trip to the Dentist

The kids had their first trip to the dentist this week.  They did GREAT!  Dr. Lorio and his staff are fantastic with kids!
Talon was super excited when I told him we were going... especially when he heard he would get to pick a prize and a new toothbrush when he was all done.
In the chair and ready to go!

Even Mommy had an appointment.  Nolan got a front row seat.  He wanted up the whole time I was in the chair, so I finally put him on my lap.  He was intrigued.  He thought the motorized chair going up and down was pretty neat as well!

Sissy's turn!
She got a little anxious when we talked about going, but she loved it and did a great job!

Showing off her clean teeth.
Time to swish and spit.  She loves this part.
Nolan didn't get his teeth checked, but did get to take a ride in the chair.
