"Not Me!" Monday

I guess it's time once again to share what I've NOT been up to.

Of course, I did not take the kids outside and spend over a half hour snapping pictures of them playing in the grass. I didn't then come inside to download the pictures onto my computer only to find I hadn't put the memory card back in the camera from when I had used it earlier in the day. Not Me!

I did not head into the house after going grocery shopping, come back to get another load, and discover I had forgotten to turn off the car. Not Me!

After shopping at Target, I did not grab a quick Starbucks for Anthony and I, so of course my hands weren't full trying to push the cart and hold two cups in my hand. I didn't have to juggle a few things to get to my purse only to realize my keys were nowhere to be found, and had to go back into the store to find I had left them at the checkout stand. Not Me!

I didn't go to start the washer in the morning after breakfast, only to look inside and find the diapers I had changed just a short time before sitting on top of the towels. After all, what kind of a scatterbrained individual would toss the dirty diapers into the washer instead of the garbage? Not Me!

I didn't make a batch of pumpkin scones, then start cleaning up the kitchen and ignore the fact that the timer had gone off. So, naturally, I didn't smell something burning, only to look in the oven and find very dark triangular objects staring me in the face. Not Me!

I did not go to Albertson's on my way home from work, buy over 60 cans of miscellaneous soups because they were such a good deal, then leave them in the car to unload later because I was too tired (and lazy) to bring them in and put them away. Not Me!

Everyone knows I didn't fall down the stairs and almost break my ankle because I got in too big of a hurry and wasn't watching where I was going. Not Me!

As I read back over these I start to wonder about myself. Maybe I really DO need to seek help! ........ Nah, Not Me!!

"Not Me!" Monday

This one's a bit shorter than the last, but it's about time for another "Not me! Monday". (Prompted by my dear husband's comment, "I can't wait to see this show up on the blog!"). So, this one's for you, Honey!

1) Anthony made me a latte the other night while I was working on the computer, but I was very responsible with it. Of course, I wouldn't have set it next to me on the ever-so-small-and-wobbly tv tray; and when Kaitlyn started fussing, naturally I gave myself plenty of space when I reached down to pick her up off the floor. She did not then proceed to kick her feet and send my 18oz coffee sailing through the air, spilling its contents all over the living room rug. To which, I did not panic, and half throw her into her dad's arms so I could get a towel and clean up the disaster. I did not have to spend a large portion of the evening trying to figure out the shampooer on my vacuum. I did not get frustrated when there was a huge brown spot on the rug when I was done, and I definitely did not have to spend about an hour last night (after everyone else was snuggled sweetly in their beds), trying to remove the huge (and now dried) coffee stain. Not me!

2) At work a couple of nights ago, when I returned from the cafeteria to the PICU, I did not stand outside the door at the card reader, swiping my badge 7 or 8 times to get back into the unit, only to discover I was swiping my debit card. Nope, not me!

"Not Me!" Monday

I have decided to participate in "Not me!" Monday, so here it goes....

1) Of course, I did not eat oatmeal cake for breakfast that I did not make yesterday after my wonderful husband did not insist it would be good for Aunt Norma to try; and we had no idea we would have a whole cake to eat ourselves. Not me!

2) I did not waste a great deal of time on the computer today updating my blog instead of folding the three loads of laundry sitting on my kitchen table. Not me!

3) I did not stand outside on my back porch in my bathrobe and barbecue dinner tonight; and I most certainly did not wave at my neighbor (which happens to be my co-worker) as she did not drive by and see me! Nope, not me!

4) I did not clean off part of the kitchen counter this week (when we found out that company was coming at the last minute), by tossing all my unopened and unorganized mail into a bin. I did not then place the bin in my room to deal with later. Not me!

5) I did not give my son some blocks to play with at a restaurant this week while waiting for our food, only to have to take the block away from him after he dipped it in his ketchup and was licking it off. Not me!

6) I did not trip over our dog in the kitchen when I was running around making dinner, then get after her for getting in my way. Not me!

7) After listening intently to my husband as he rehashed the evening's events while I was at work, I did not start laughing at my son's wild imagination and mischievous antics (including trying to lock his dad out of the house), and I did not try to defend his reasoning for not minding when told to do something and laughing about it. Not this Mama!

8) And for sure, I didn't get after my husband a couple of days ago for not bringing the phone back upstairs when he was done using it, only to remember that I had used it last and left it on the kitchen counter. Definitely not me!
