6 months old

Nolan turned 6 months old a little over a week ago. He went in for his check-up last Friday.
~He weighs 18 lbs, 13oz; and is 26 1/2 inches long.

~He is sleeping through the night.... even 10-12 hours sometimes.

~We've started him on rice cereal, but he isn't the least bit interested in the spoon idea. So far, he wears more than he consumes.

~He loves to scoot around on the floor backwards, and is getting very fast at it. He still won't roll from his back to his tummy, but then he's not super fond of his tummy, so that may have something to do with it.

~He now says "Momma". (Daddy's working with him on "Dadda"!)

~He's starting to sit up, unsupported, for brief periods of time.

~He loves to sit in the high chair and play with his activity tray, and still loves his ExerSaucer.

~He has very quick hands, and will grab at anything within reach.
~He's such a fun little guy, and seems to get bigger by the day!

Easter 2011

My plan on Easter Sunday, was to take lots of pictures of the kids, in their outfits, before church. (You know, before getting in the car, eating snacks and playing in Sunday School, rolling around on the pew during church, and running around and playing after church.) That, of course, didn't happen. By the time I actually got around to taking some pictures (after church, when we were getting ready to leave), the kids were getting tired and hungry, and were in not in the mood for a photo shoot. So, we snapped a couple of shots and called it good.

A little uninterested at this point. This was the end of the photo shoot.

Sittin' like a big boy!

We came home, made a big ham dinner with all the fixin's, and had a wonderful day!

Happy Resurrection Sunday!!

New Guitar

Anthony is having Ron Kirn build him a custom Strat. Ron has been sending him photos and updates as he completes various steps, and it's been exciting to see the progress.
Here is the very first picture he received a couple of weeks ago....

The cut-out

Wow... that's a lot of sawdust!

These were part of the second set of pictures, just a few days after the first ones were sent.
Anthony chose to have it made out of quilted maple.

Moistened to show the grain of the wood.

We've finally had a few rainless days for the kiddos to play outside.... and for me to take a few pictures.

Riding the big-girl trike....

....and stopping to pick a few flowers.

Having fun on the horse swing

The daffodils are in bloom once again. I thought we had a lot last year, but I think they multiplied. They're everywhere!!

They're beautiful; but with the crazy, cold weather we've been having, they're starting to look a little tattered, frost bitten, and droopy. I hope they recover and decide to hang around for a while longer.... I'm not quite ready to don my parka and rain gear, and brave the elements to trim them back!

Just Chillin'

My handsome little men

Talon has been intrigued with holding his little brother lately. He's constantly telling me how he likes being a big brother. The other night he asked me, "Can I carry him around?". Uh, NO!! Never mind the fact that Nolan is over half his size!

Snugglin' in the big chair

I've been doing a bit of reorganizing, so I got a bunch of small bins. I put Nolan in one of them, and he loved it. He fit perfectly. He sat in there for the longest time, just looking around and smiling.

He got a bit excited at one point, and almost tipped himself over.

Kiki was so sweet. She just stood there while he 'pet' her (pulled her hair and ears). I love the folded hands and crossed legs- he looks like he is patiently waiting for the photo shoot to end.
