Beach Trip

I had a few days off the weekend of Valentine's Day, so we went to the beach for a couple of days. It was cold and rainy, but nice to get away. Funny how 3 young kids can change things so drastically. Trips to the beach, dinner, and staying in a motel used to be so relaxing. Not so much anymore. Fun, but far from relaxing!

The kids got down to business as soon as we got on the road!

Keeping himself entertained. He did really good... especially for how much he hates his car seat!

The first night, after getting settled into our motel, we went out for Mexican food. Not the best Mexican food around. We'll just leave it at that. Anthony and I were super tired and ready for a good nights' sleep. The kids, however, were hyper. They were so excited to be at the beach! We did go for coffee afterward, and that definitely helped!

What do kids do in a motel when they're bored at night? Yep... play on the bed!

It was pretty funny to watch. They had a blast!

All bundled up and headed for the beach. It was pouring down rain and freezing, and all Talon could talk about was going in the water. They were tired, but Talon was doing his best trying to keep himself awake. Kaitlyn lost the fight.

Alas, Talon surrendered as well!

Nolan's first time at the ocean. All bundled up, he didn't seem to mind the rain and wind.

So sweet. Just watching the water come in then roll back out.
Kaitlyn didn't last 5 minutes outside. She very quickly decided it was too wet, windy, and cold, and wanted to stay in the car with Daddy and Nolan. Talon, on the other hand, wanted to get down to the beach. No one can say I don't love my kids! Talon had a hat. I didn't. I stayed outside with him long after I was soaked to the bone, and he finally got drenched enough that I could convince him to leave. I only brought an extra skirt and shoes, so we had to run to the outlet mall so I could get a sweatshirt to change into before we went to dinner. When we got back in the car, Kaitlyn kept saying, "Mommy, I don't want to go on the beach. I don't like the beach!". She's let us know, multiple times since we've been back, that she doesn't want to go to the beach. Poor kid. We're gonna have to take her in the summer when it's warm so she isn't traumatized for life!

Ca-Raaaa-Zyyyy!!!

Daddy and Bubbs... hanging out and waiting for dinner at Mo's.

Kaitlyn eating her french fries with ranch dressing. She was happy and loving them. Until....

...she discovered tartar sauce. Her face lit up with her first bite. It was priceless!

On the way home, we stopped at The Italian Riviera for dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day. What a fun family trip!

Katie Quip

Talon and Nolan went to see the doctor today, so Anthony and Kaitlyn sat in the lobby. An older lady came through, commented on Kaitlyn, and Anthony told her they were waiting for her brothers to get done in the doctor’s office. She asked Anthony the ages of the kids, then asked Kaitlyn, “What’s your baby brother’s name?”.

She answered, “Baby Stinky!”.

4 month appointment

Nolan had his 4 month check-up today. His doctor is very impressed with his development and growth... and, after a thorough assessment, deduced that he hasn't missed too many feedings!
He weighs 17lbs, 1oz (90th percentile),
is 251/2 inches long (50th percentile),
wears 6-9 month clothes,
is already teething,
.....and is probably gonna need his first haircut soon!

4 months old

Yes, 4 months old today! He's getting more and more active, and loves to be entertained!

What he's up to these days...
-He grabs at objects that you put in front of him, and tries to actually play with his toys
-He's starting to scoot around on the floor, and attempts to roll over
-He likes to play and jump around in his ExerSaucer (unless he thinks there's any chance at all that he might get picked up... then he starts throwing a fit!)
-He loves to giggle, and loves 'Peek-a-boo'
-He does really well sitting up in his Bebe Pod seat
-He loves his brother and sister to talk to him and play with him
-He's sleeping better at night now (up to 7-8 hours at a time!)
-He still hates his car seat, loves his baths...
... and has a TEMPER!!
We go in next week for a check-up... kinda anxious to see how big my little man is!

And, yes... still quite a Momma's boy!

Just look at those chubby cheeks!!

(Gotta get in a sleeping shot!)

Nolan & Papa

Playtime with Bubby

When I put Nolan on the floor to play, the other two love to get down and play with him. He, of course, doesn't mind!
I usually have a bib on him because he slobbers so much. I call him my little 'drool box'. Obviously, I neglected to put a bib on him this particular evening- as evidenced by his completely saturated shirt!

Playing 'Peek-a-boo'. Nolan's favorite. It's so cute to watch him get excited and start giggling!

Little monkey

Just love these pictures of my little monkey!

Fun hair

One morning, I was having fun with Talon's hair and I spiked it. He thought it was the greatest thing ever. Now, he asks me all the time to "make his hair spike". Then he tells me, "Mommy, I'm a goofy kid!". I have to agree.

Mr. A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E

This is Nolan as I was trying out some new settings on my camera. He was completely content sitting in his swing, looking at his toys. Great 'Kodak Moment', don't you think? (Well, except the fact that he had just spit up all over himself.)

...and this is Nolan, about 10 seconds later, when I dared to walk away and didn't get him out like he thought I was going to.
(We start anger management classes next week!)

Talon Moment

The kids really like to sing- especially in the car. As soon as we get on the road, the requests start coming in for what we're gonna sing first. Many times, one of them will start a song, expecting the rest of us to join in. The other night in the car, Talon says, "Hey, Mom..." (starts singing) "The icky, yucky spider climbed up the water spout....".

Bath time!

Nolan loves his baths, and splashin' all the water out. Such a funny little guy!

So excited about the HD video on my new camera!

Katie Quip

Kaitlyn has a horrible habit of chewing on her fingernails and the end of her fingers. She does it so bad, she gets open sores that bleed, then cries because they hurt. We are constantly trying to get her to quit.
Last night we were walking through the store, I saw her chewing on her fingers, and I said, "Sissy, don't chew on your fingers." She replied, "I'm not. I was picking my nose!". (sigh!)
------------

I must admit, I have a bad habit myself. When I'm thinking about something and really focusing, I tend to pick at my lip. I come by it honestly... my mom does the exact same thing. It drives Anthony nuts, but I usually don't even realize I'm doing it. On our way home from the store last night, Anthony and I were discussing something. From the back, I hear Talon ask, "Mommy, are you chewing on your fingers?". I told him, "No, Talon, I was just picking at my lip.". Kaitlyn instantly pipes up and says, "Mommy, I not chewing on my pingers, I'n pitting at my wip!".
------------

Kaitlyn: "Mommy, I'n a good girl!"
Me: "Yeah, that's good, Sissy!"
Kaitlyn: "Daddy, I'n a good girl!"
Daddy: "Yeah. Do you like being a good girl?"
Kaitlyn: "No."

Pardon the absence!

Things have been quite busy over the past few weeks, and unfortunately the blog has gotten set aside. I have periodically uploaded pictures with the intention of posting them, but haven't gotten to it. So, here are the posts that have been pending over this past month......
