A little milestone

I went to check on Talon after he had been napping for almost 3 hours. I couldn't believe he was still sleeping, but it was just too quiet for him to be awake. I peeked into his room and found him sitting quietly on his bed, listening to his music, and reading a book. Usually after his nap, as soon as he's awake, I hear "Mama? Mama? Mama?...".
For those of you that have kids, you know how much relief it brings when your child gets to the age where he can sit quietly for any period of time and entertain himself without the thought crossing your mind, "It's too quiet. He MUST be doing something he's not supposed to!"

Bye bye!

Hugging Uncle Chad good-bye

Weekend with Chad and Tori

We went out for breakfast on Saturday morning with Chad and Tori and Anthony's parents before they left for Oregon. Yep, that's Uncle Chad being goofy for the camera again!

Bubby's home!

Yeah, Bubby's home! Chad and Tori came to visit over the weekend and brought Talon home with them. We were so excited to see him! I found an activity table that has musical instruments and plays music. I put it in the dining room and he found it immediately. He stands and bounces up and down and sings while he plays the piano. It's hilarious!

He missed Sissy and had to love on her a little bit, too!

The Exersaucer

Talon used to really enjoy the Exersaucer. He was a month or two older when we first put him in it, but Kaitlyn seems to get bored so easy, I decided to try it. She loves it! Even the dogs were intrigued with this new toy! I tried to put a book under her feet so she could stand up a little easier, but she kept pushing it away. What a big girl she's getting to be. I'm sure when Bubby gets home he's gonna want to play in it, too. It's gonna be fun trying to keep him out of it for the first few days. Whenever we pull out some of his old toys for Sissy, he gets a little possessive, like, "Hey, that's mine!". He's really good-natured about it all, though!

Miss Personality

Over the past few days, we have noticed quite a change in Kaitlyn's personality. She seems to have a more cheerful disposition (although she is still very willing to let her voice be heard if she is unhappy with something). She seems content to just sit in her swing and play with her toys for long periods of time, or play with her toys on the floor, and she smiles constantly. The swing doesn't even have to be going, she just likes the fact that she can sit up and play with the toys on her tray. (She's figured out it's pretty fun to throw them off... until no one is close by to pick them back up right away!) When I'm in the kitchen making dinner or something, she enjoys sitting in Talon's high-chair seat on the counter where she, too, can be part of the action. It's even more fun to throw toys off the tray in there because they hit the counter (which makes a loud noise), then the hardwood floor (which is an even bigger noise!).
My sister-in-law, Beth, inspired me with all the adorable bows she puts in her daughter's hair, and I had to make a few for Kaitlyn. (OK, so it's become a little fetish!) They just look so cute and I have a blast doing it! I never knew one could spend so much time in the ribbon section!

Daddy took this picture one night while I was at work. She was in her swing and holding on to the bar like most kids would do on a swing set. He said it was pretty cute. (I have to agree... judging from the pictures!)

I must put a little 'plug' in here, and say that Talon is having a blast at my parents' house in Oregon, and they are enjoying him so much (and spoiling him rotten, of course!); but we all really miss Bubby around here and can't wait until he comes home this weekend!

Talon,
Hugs and Kisses, Baby... Mommy loves you!!

Quick trip to Oregon

On Sunday afternoon, Anthony decided we should make a quick trip to Oregon, so we did. (Did I say quick? I meant QUICK!!) After church, I threw our bags together and we were off. We got in Sunday night and came back Wednesday night. We didn't even tell anyone we were coming! It was very short, but I was happy to get to see my family. It was fun to just 'pop in' on my mom on Monday morning and surprise her. We let Talon stay for a few extra days with Grandpa and Grandma, so he won't be home until next Friday. This is the longest he's ever been away from us and I miss him SO much! I think he's probably handling it a lot better then we are!

Easter Sunday

These are a couple of pictures I took of the kids on Easter Sunday morning. They were so cute!
Talon LOVES his sissy, and she doesn't seem to mind all the affection he showers her with!
Big Hugs!!
(He kept rubbing her head and messing up her headband and flower.)

That's my handsome little guy!

Sleepy boy

This was so funny, I had to get it on camera. Talon was sitting on the couch eating his snack before bed, and could hardly keep his eyes open! (Sorry it's so dark, but you get the idea!)
...
This was his ascent to his room, carrying his blankie.

He stopped on the second flight of stairs to rest.Ahhh, finally in bed! All tucked in with his stuffed animals.

Talon & Uncle Walt

Walt came to Idaho for the weekend to help his parents, so they had dinner with us on Saturday night. Talon really likes Uncle Walt!

Visitors

My Aunt Jenny and Uncle Rodger came to Boise for work, so they stopped by to visit us. We really enjoyed having them (even if it was just for a short time before I had to go to work). Talon was excited to have "visitors", of course he thought they came only to see him, and attempted to steal all of their attention!

Yes, my aunt is another 'picture freak' in the family, so she had the kids sit for a couple of pictures. I took advantage of it and snapped a few myself!

"Born to Win"

This is pretty incredible. I thought I'd share it.

Let's hear it for 32!

Yes, Anthony is another year older today.

To a wonderful husband and daddy, and my very best friend...

We love you, Daddy!

Playtime

Talon is such a great big brother. He loves to be involved in whatever Sissy is doing. Today he laid on the floor and played with her toys with her. (I know, it wont last forever. That's why I'm cherishing it now!)

Sitting like a big girl in her Bebe Pod seat.
(I love this thing!)
